Manulife Cambodia launches a new hospital cash benefit and “EasyClaims” to make lives better for customers

Phnom Penh, Cambodia - Manulife Cambodia today officially announced “Manulife MediCash” the country’s first and only insurance solution that offers a fixed daily cash benefit from US$10 to US$200 to insured individuals when they are hospitalized due to illness or accidents.

Today also marked the launch of its “EasyClaims” system, allowing customers to file MediCash claims digitally at any time, from anywhere, using their smartphones.

Manulife MediCash was developed to help ease the financial burden on customers and mitigate any loss of income during their hospitalization. Its key features include:

  • A daily cash benefit of between US$10 and US$200
  • Daily intensive care unit benefits: an additional 100% of the face value of the daily cash benefit
  • A minimum stay of no less than six hours for up to 20 days per incidence of hospitalization
  • Worldwide coverage
  • Affordable premiums, starting from US$25 annually
  • Hospitalization benefits that are effective immediately for accidents, and 45 days after policy issuance for illness

Manulife MediCash is an optional insurance solution and can be attached to the following products:

  • Manulife Education Protector (payer only)
  • Manulife Savings Protector

“At Manulife, we have a clear mission to help our customers make their decisions easier and their lives better," said Justin Helferich, CEO and General Manager of Manulife Cambodia. "Since entering Cambodia in 2012 as the first international life insurer in the country, we have put a great deal of effort into introducing products and services that address the needs of Cambodian families.”

"Today, we also take great pleasure in introducing Manulife MediCash, another market-leading solution that will provide daily financial support to our customers if they find themselves in the hospital. This will allow them to focus on recovery, not the expense," Helferich added. "I’m also very proud that we're able to bring an electronic claims experience to our customers in Cambodia. While

providing a secure and convenient claims process for our customers, we progress towards our bold ambition of becoming a digital leader in the insurance industry.”
