Manulife សុខសប្បាយ (សុខសុវត្ថិភាព 2.5) is a life insurance product which subject of insurance is life and physical (Total and Permanent Disability).

1.     Eligible

• Policy Owner: 18 - 65 Years

2.    Premium Payment

• Premium Payment

All Premiums applicable under this Policy shall be paid during the Premium Term as stated on the Insurance Certificate or subsequent Endorsement (if any).

Premium mode is available in annual and semi-annual modes. Monthly and quarterly modes shall be available upon special request from the Policyowner. The Company reserves the rights to accept or decline the request.     

All Premium shall be paid to the Company on or before the Premium Due Date by the method specified by the Company. 

• Grace Period

There is no grace period for this Policy.

•Policy Reinstatement

There is no reinstatement for this Policy

3.    Insurance Benefits

If សុខដុម benefit is selected, the benefits below will be payable in the event of accident involving the life insured.Accident definition in section 1 must be met to be able to claim.

Accidental Death Or Accidental Total Permanent Disability Benefit Caused By Accident

Subject to this Policy, the Company shall pay the Death or Total and Permanent Disability Benefit cause by Accident as specified in the Insurance Certificate or subsequent Endorsement (if any) in the event of the Life Insured’s death or Total and Permanent Disability cause by Accident during the Policy is in force and before Policy Expiry Date.

The Accidental Death Benefit shall be paid to the Beneficiary(ies) while the Accidental Total and Permanent Disability Benefit shall be paid to the Life Insured, upon receipt of acceptable proof and approval by the Company of the Life Insured’s death or of the Total and Permanent Disability of the Life Insured cause by accident that meets the definitions, exclusions, and terms and conditions stated under this Policy. The Policy will be terminated after Accidental Death or Total and Permanent Disability Benefit is paid.

4.    Exclusion

Exclusions for accidental death, accidental total permanent disability caused by to accident

No Benefit will be payable under this Provision, if the occurrence of the insured event results directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from any of the following:

a)     Suicide or attempted suicide, whether the Life Insured is sane or insane; or

b)    Willful exposure to danger or attempted self-destruction or self-inflicted injuries, whether the Life Insured is sane or insane; or

c)     Assault or murder; or 

d)    A committed criminal offense, or an attempted commitment of a criminal offense by the Policyowner, Life Insured, or Beneficiaries (please refer to Section 8. Beneficiary); or

e)     Any unprescribed drug, alcoholic substance, poison, gas or fumes, voluntarily taken, administered, absorbed or inhaled; or

f)      War or any act of war, whether declared or not, riot, insurrection, civil commotion, strikes terrorist activities, whether or not the Life Insured was participating therein; or

g)    Any loss sustained by the Life Insured while resisting arrest by a law enforcement officer or violation of alcohol intake and/or speed limits as prescribed by the applicable traffic law at the time of accident; or 

h)     Bodily or mental infirmity or illness or disease of any kind or any infection, other than infections occurring simultaneously with and in consequence of an accidental wound; or

i)      Travelling or flight in any vehicle or device for aerial navigation, except as a passenger on an aircraft operated by a regular airline; or

j)      Engaging in or taking part in driving or riding in any kind of race, underwater activities, or other hazardous pursuit such as mountaineering or potholing or parachuting or bungee jumping.

k)     Exclusion – Hazardous sports and high-risk Occupations for សុខដុម benefit: (Courier/Messenger/Deliveryman using motorcycle (two wheels), Construction site worker (drives or operates Tractor, Excavator, Bulldozer, Roller, Crane, Pile), Lift technician, Linesman, Driller, Building wrecker, Tree feller, Aerial worker at height > 9 meters, Fisherman, Offshore worker, Underground worker, Stevedore, Forklift operator, Security guard (nightclub, bar or bank), Stuntman, Street sweeper, Zookeeper, Explosive operator, Detective, Government disciplinary forces (armed forces and police))

l)      When the insured have 2 or more occupations, where either one or more belong to the non-covered occupation list, and the incident happened while performing his duty under a non-covered occupation.

m)   Pre-existing Conditions which originated before the later of​​ the Policy Year Date. A “Pre-existing Condition" is a disability which was observed checked, diagnosed, or treated, or occurred prior to a certain date.

n)     Pregnancy, childbirth, miscarriage or abortion, or any medical complications thereof.

5.    Free Look Period

Refer to the duration of twenty-one (21) calendar days from the Policy Issue Date. During this Free Look Period, the Policyowner can surrender the Policy upon a written request to the company with the Original Insurance Contract attached (For E-Contract, Policyowner is required to attach Insurance Certificate only). After the Company received all the required documents, the Company will terminate the Policy then refund back to the Policyowner as the following:

a)         total Premium paid; less,

b)         any expenses occured for the underwriting process (if any); less,

c)         any amount owed to the company (if any).  

6.    Grace Period

There is no grace period for this Policy.

7.    Dispute Mediation

Complaint Procedures

Any complaint received will be resolved or provided clarification to the complainant within five (5) working days to determine the root cause and the appropriate course of action in accordance with regulatory requirements and the Company’s standard operating procedures.

•Dispute Resolutions

For any dispute arising in relation to the conduct of insurance business, the disputing parties may bring the case to the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia for mediation before filing a lawsuit to arbitration or a competent court, except a criminal case

8.    Incontestability

There is no Incontestability for this Policy.

9.    Termination

This Policy will be automatically terminated on the earliest of the following:

a)     Death or Total and Permanent Disability of the Life Insured due to Accident or Non-Accident; or

b)    Policyowner’s request to surrender the Policy; or

c)     The Policy has lapsed for twenty-four (24) months consecutively or has matured.
